With the Labor day weekend upon us, its always a time for me to remember the holiday and what it meant to me in the past.  The last weekend in August brought the first letters from school sent to your parents about the upcoming school year; the trips to the stores to get our fall clothes and school supplies; We dreaded the days getting shorter - staying out after the sun went down playing with the kids on the block under the watchful eye of every adult - parent or not - who would make sure you didn't get into trouble. The freedom of playing without a care in the world is something I look back on fondly. 

When I was older, Labor day was in the midst of arduous campaigns; some of the races have blurred, but what I remember most are the fantastic memories of meeting neighbors, constituents at picnics,  parades, fairs and carnivals; people who just want to let me know that they agreed with what I was fighting for and wished me the best in November.

Now, as this summer comes to a close, I am working more and more as a lawyer trying to help my constituents save their homes; we have neighbors out of work for more than a year and local businesses closing without any fanfare - they are being forced out because our Federal government has placed so many rules, regulations and taxes with no let up from city and state agencies, who along with their laws and fines does not make it worthwhile to continue.  

As we approach Labor Day, the Greatest Country in the World with greatest work force has become a Nation of Government handouts, bailouts, czars, and a socialist healthcare system that will cripple and bankrupt this nation all paid for on the backs of the middle class.

We cannot forget what we as Republicans stand for; we cannot let our neighbors down.  I want my children, and the children of all of my constituents have a care free world to live in without inheriting a debt that my generation's President created; I will continue to fight the good fight and ask you to join me this November and then in April and then next fall in changing the disastrous course we are on by electing a Republican President, and bringing a Republican majority to the Senate and State Houses and the City Council.

Yes we can!
